Ahh.... That's Better

I know it's been awhile since my last post, but I've returned with the results of my office makeover! If you are a regular reader of my blog, you'll remember that a couple of weeks ago I was complaining about the general chaos that was whirling around me in the form of red-orange paint, a half-finished tree mural and enough crap on the walls to put a TGIFridays to shame.

My office was in desperate need of a Design on Dime makeover. So with IKEA a mere 20 minutes away and a Vintage/Asian/Seaside theme steering my thoughts, I embarked upon my most ambitious decorating project to date.

Since it was color that prompted this redecorating frenzy, choosing a new color was my biggest challenge. After spending a year in a room painted one-shade hotter than the sun; I was looking forward to a nice cool palette. Something equivalent to a mental mint. I eventually arrived at Livable Green and Transport Gray. It's very calm and just a bit institutional, which I find oddly soothing.

After the room was repainted I waited a few days before I dove into the actual work of redecorating. I really wanted to approach the project from a more organized place than I usually come from and that meant NOT throwing everything back up on the walls. It also meant measuring, leveling, sinking anchors and using common sense in general.

I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my new office. If you have a room or a corner or a shelf that you've walked past one hundred times and thought, " I should do something with this" I hope this inspires you to get started on your own project. xoxox - jenni
